Tioga Downs Racetrack and Casino, Nichols, NY

Tioga Downs Racetrack and Casino in Nichols, NY contracted Commercial AV to supply and install over 180 televisions, 18 zones of audio, AMX control system, and live television production.

The racetrack has over 180 televisions throughout the facilities with at least 80 of them controlled by remote IP internet access. An internal timer automatically controlls the televisions’ power and sets their channels in the morning. Hifi House Commercial AV also installed an in house RF cable system with 50 channels to broadcast 18 channels of live races, 10 channels of cable television, 10 channels of Satellite TV, and the remaining channels are for in house use of the DVD, VCR, and paging.

Focusing on the audio aspect, 18 zones of audio were installed which are controlled by BSS London Blue 80’s and Blue 32’s. Inside the facility there are JBL control series speakers powered by Crown amps, while outside the facility there is a mixture of Community R2 and R3 speakers with outdoor Community 70V speakers in the VIP and Bar deck areas. The audio system has the capability of sending any audio source to any preset zone which makes the system functional as well as easy to operate.

To complete the successful installation of both the audio and video systems, Tioga Downs Racetrack and Casino was interfaced with live television production from various other racing facilities. Live racing from other venues is then broadcast throughout the facility.

In the sports bar area and VIP room, Hifi House Commercial AV installed the AMX control system with CV5 tp’s to control the televisions through the Extron IP link boxes, audio volume through the BSS London, and music selection through Extron’s RF tuners. The entire system can be controlled through web pages that are accessible via internet anywhere in the world.
