Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Philadelphia, PA
Hifi House Commercial AV along with the Elf Foundation donated, designed and installed a Room of Magic in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to give the children an outlet to have fun, watch movies, interact with all the other children, and most importantly to give them an opportunity to forget about their illnesses for at least a few moments. This Room of Magic consists of a high definition movie theater system that utilizes the three individual conference rooms into one large room system.
The system is complete with, 110” front projection screen with a high definition 720p/1080i projector. A five disc, high definition DVD player is utilized as the source for playing all of the latest movie titles fifteen cinema style ceiling mounted speakers, six in-wall subwoofers and a high power surround sound processor provide state of the art 7.1 dolby digital surround sound with thunderous base response at over 2300 watts of power.
Hifi House Commercial AV also installed a state-of-the-art divisible conference room system allowing each of the three rooms to operate completely autonomous of the others or in various divisible/combined configurations. This allows CHOP to have the flexibility to configure the rooms for virtually any type of meeting requirement.
Each room is capable of displaying separately, PC video from a high resolution ceiling mounted video project onto a front projection screen.
The system comes complete with both audio and video conferencing with a fully controllable camera in each room. Recessed ceiling microphones allow for complete coverage during an interactive audio or video conference. Each room has ceiling mounted speakers for sound reinforcement as well as wireless lavalier microphones for use during formal presentations.
A hearing impaired system allows for all program audio to be heard loud and clear for those who require additional attenuated sound.
The system is rounded out with a completely automated, wireless, color, touch panel, control system that operates every aspect of each room. It is a very intuitive system that acts as the user interface for complete system control.
As a separate system, the lunchroom incorporates three, high resolution, 50”, wall mounted, flat panel displays allowing for standard TV content as well as CHOP’s in-house RF distribution system for other content.
A separate high quality sound reinforcement system incorporating a portable audio mixing rack has been integrated into the lunch room. This system may be utilized for any type of staged event whether it be plays or musical events.
